LongView Wireless Extender

The Avocent LongView® Wireless extender is the world’s first wireless keyboard, video and mouse (KVM) extender.

It can wirelessly connect monitors (VGA, SVGA and XGA), keyboards, mice and audio devices to any computer, up to 100 feet away.

Features and Benefits

LongView Wireless extension, based on the 802.11a standard and Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), connects directly to target devices. It serves as the radio interface link so the computer can transmit secure audio and high-resolution video data through walls – all without VGA cables.

  • Extends monitors, keyboards, mice and audio devices to a computer – without the use of cables
  • Plug and play installation requires no new operating system, drivers or application software
  • Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) provides secure connections
  • Graphical On-Screen Display (OSD) allows you to make adjustments and tune video settings
  • Proprietary design is based on the 802.11a standard

Avocent LongView Wireless LV4500W/LV3500W

The Avocent LongView Wireless extender connects computer-based audio/video and digital sources with display devices including LCDs, monitors, plasma displays and projection devices. You may also connect keyboards, mice and audio devices at both the local (transmitter) and remote (receiver) locations.

Audio, video and PC content are transmitted wirelessly from the source computer to the output device utilizing Avocent’s patented proprietary compression engine technology. The transmitter and receiver process analog video in a range of 250 to 3000 feet depending upon the LongView Wireless extender model chosen.

Industry-Standard Design

Its industry-standard design makes the LongView Wireless Extender compatible with virtually any PC, display technology and operating system. Plug in the transmitter and the receiver and radio transmission begins instantly.

Three levels of built-in security make the LongView Wireless Extender incorruptible – including AES encryption, a proprietary 802.11a link layer protocol and its proprietary video compression engine.

The LongView Wireless extender features a user-friendly OSD for making adjustments and tuning the video settings.

The LongView Wireless Extender is available in two configurations, the LongView Wireless LV3500W and the LongView Wireless LV 4500W:

LongView Wireless LV3500W

The LongView Wireless LV3500W transmits data 250 feet through walls and up to 1000 feet with optional directional antenna. It includes a wireless transmitter and receiver, power supplies and audio cables. The LV3500W omni-directional antennas enable the transmitter and receiver to find each other regardless of their location.

LongView Wireless 4500W

The LongView Wireless LV4500W transmits data 300 feet through walls and up to 3000 feet without obstruction. It includes a wireless transmitter and receiver, power supplies and audio cables. The LV4500W contains embedded directional antennas that boost its transmission distance. To take advantage of the directional antenna strength, the wireless transmitter and receiver must be pointed directly at each other.
